Boiko the Great says repent by October 14

Its hard to believe but it appears a Russian has topped some American Evangelicals and the Catholic Church when it comes to enforcing enlightenment on his workers.  Vasily Boiko, a Russian tycoon has told 6,000 workers at his private dairy company that they'll be fired if they've ever had an abortion, or if those who are "living in sin" don't get married within two months.

Now there is no mention with respect to queer or gay employees.  Let me guess, they will be publically flogged and then dismissed.  Can't have gay men working in a wholesome milk factory can you.  Still its a bit rich that Boiko-Veliky (he changed his name, it means Boiko the Great) who has been convicted of fraud, to now be pontificating a better way or else.

Boiko the Great blames Russia's extreme weather this summer on what he called a lack of ample religious faith. "Such an extreme situation is punishment for the Russian people's sins," he said according to The Daily Telegraph. "I need to take extreme measures including looking at the way my employees treat God."

We are Non-dispensational, except for Homos

We are Non-dispensational, except for Homos

They should be dispatched...

I'm not sure if I can actually post this material in Canada. I feel queasy about doing it. I decided you needed to hear this. If you are in the USA, this guy could be your neighbour. Especially if you are in Tempe AZ.

This family is growing up to hate others. This man is a Father, someone who is entrusted with nurturing, protecting and introducing these children to the world.

Baptist preacher Steven L. Anderson can be found here on the web. Ironically he is from Arizona, the same state that allows people to carry semi automatic rifles designed to kill people.

The audio below is very offensive, do not listen if you find extreme homophobia even mildly offends you.

You can find more of his deplorable speech here.

And if those sermons don't get you, look at the Doctrinal Statement.

H/T to Good as You ( not according to the good pastor you're not!)

note: i distorted the faces of these kids, though the pastor has them on full display on his website.

They are Gay, Duh!

They are Gay, Duh!

The American Psychological Association declared Wednesday that mental health professionals should not tell gay clients they can become straight through therapy or other treatments. - NY Times, August 6, 2009

By a vote of 124 to 4 the American Psychological Association agreed that gay patients should not be told they can become straight. Reparative therapy is used primarily by religious conservative therapists and wing nuts like James Dobson. They have destroyed many lives along the way with their zealot like assault on the GLBTTQI communities.

Enough already!

Blair it from the Pew

Blair it from the Pew

Tony Blair says the Church (the Catholic kind) should listen to its members and accept homosexuality. According to a recent article in Attitude and reported on by the always objective folks over at "The Christian Post" , Blair says, "There are many good and great things the Catholic Church does, and there are many fantastic things this Pope stands for, but I think what is interesting is that if you went into any Catholic Church, particularly a well attended one, on any Sunday here and did a poll of the congregation, you'd be surprised at how liberal-minded people were."

The Rt Honourable Tony Blair and I have had some disagreements on a couple of issues, primarily Iraq and standing a little too close to George W Bush on other things. But then again Tony's government did bring in civil unions for gay people and lowered the age of consent for gays to the same age for straights.

Blair converted to the Catholic Church soon after he stepped down as Prime Minister. He pretty much had to be an Anglican while holding down the top job in the UK. It is ironic that Blair also prevented Catholic Adoption agencies from barring gays from adopting children. It's a good thing Blair did all these things before becoming a Catholic.

All's forgiven after a few hail Mary's right? Or is that a few bloke marry's?

Religious fast-food in quebec - Awesome

The Evangelical and right wing Christians
are not liking this...

In September 2008, a new ethics and religious culture program was implemented in elementary and secondary schools in Quebec. I doubt this course of study could have been started in many places in this world and it makes lots of sense to see it starting in Quebec.

Quebec has a long historical connection to the Catholic church and many wrongs have been committed in the name of the the "official" church. Just as we see many nations around the world based on a religion, Quebec was one of those places. The Catholic Church held sway for 100's of years until the 1960's and its influence started to fall away. Today Quebec stands as one of the most progressive provinces with respect to separation of state and religion.

The course will...
recognize different ways of viewing life, relationships with others, and the place and role of human beings in the world
reflect on values (freedom, equity, equality, justice, respect, integrity, etc.) and social prescriptions (laws, rules, regulations, etc.)
take a reflective position with respect to problem situations in which different values are at stake or choices have to be made
make choices based on the common good, get involved and act toward others autonomously and responsibly
It looks too me that it is a giant step forward in education. And because it is a giant step forward there are some getting exercised in a big way over it. This course is compulsory and children cannot be exempted. It replaces three options that had been available to Quebec students - a generic course in moral education or two other courses that were either Catholic or Protestant in nature.
A Catholic private boys' school in Montreal, Loyola High School, made a request to be exempted from the compulsory course, on the grounds that the course conflicted with the school's Catholic character. The Ministère de l’É ducation, du Loisir et du Sport, Michelle Courchesne, rejected their request. The school is indicating that they may take it to Court.

Another family is also taking a local school board and the Ministère de l’É ducation, du Loisir et du Sport to court. Sylvain Lamontagne, says he is concerned the course exposes his children to world religions at a very young age thus threatening their Christian faith, and will cause confusion and push his kids towards atheism. "It's religious fast-food. We can't do this to children. It will only confuse them," said Lamontagne. "Religion isn't a Chinese buffet. You can't just pick one and then another however you want."

Last year Jean Morse-Chevrier of the Association of Catholic Parents, told Lifesite News the course covers different world religions as if all are equal. The major religions focused on in the program are Christianity, Native Spirituality, Judaism, Islam, Buddhism and Hinduism. Atheism is also covered as a cultural expression. Instruction equating homosexuality with normal family life is to be presented as early as grade one. Under 'ethics' for grades 1-2 the course is intended "to bring children to explore the diversity of relationships of interdependence between members of different types of families."

There is a protest being planned for today in Montreal, the organizers are hoping for thousands of parents to attend. I suspect it will not be that large and secondly, I seriously doubt that they will be able to change the mind of the Ministère de l’É ducation, du Loisir et du Sport.

Some days you just have to love Quebec. I say right on Quebec, the sooner kids are exposed to the alternatives in this world, the less chance we have in seeing them brainwashed by their parents and Churches.
