Washington state nears ban on anti-gay discrimination The state Senate is said to be just a few votes shy of approving of bill that would outlaw anti-gay discrimination in hiring, housing and insurance. The measure has already passed the state House and Gov. Christine Gregoire also has indicated her support. Georgia school district relents, OKs student group White County High School students prevailed in their fight to establish a club for gays and lesbians and their straight supporters at their school in Cleveland, Ga.
